I am really excited to share this interview with you. I absolutely adore Melody Gardot. Her music, centeredness, and peaceful disposition is inspiring. Her porcelain skin, and blond, gamine appearance do not hint at the jazz and whiskey-soaked voice that fills my apartment when I’m playing her music … nor the old-soul, wise-beyond-her-years wisdom. She speaks of the accident that almost robbed her of life, and served as a personal reset button. She had to learn simple things such as brushing her teeth and walking. When she is not writing, recording or touring, she visits hospitals and universities to speak about the benefits of music therapy: its ability to help reconnect neural pathways in the brain, improve speech ability, and lift general spirits. The accident left her hyper-sensitive to both light and sound, therefore requiring her to wear dark sunglasses at nearly all times to shield her eyes.

You can read more about Melody here.

Just the sound of her voice makes me feel peaceful. Enjoy.
