AND, OF COURSE THERE IS GOING TO BE A BOOK

One Thousand 968 Miles

“A love affair imparts adventure, not merely because it is unsanctioned and risky, but because it proceeds on part-knowledge, like all creative endeavor. And it is risked because the longing to find home is one of the sharpest hungers a human can know. For this a man gives up an empire and sails the open sea….” (-excerpt)

Jack and Everleigh fall in love and create home in each other before they ever meet. They choose to build their love only from letters until they can close the 1,968 miles between them. After time, they conspire to meet in a foreign city, kiss, and begin a life of passion and partnership.

“We were searching for each other long before we met…and once we did we were so mutually taken by each other, so instantly smitten and allied, that from that moment forward nothing was ever so precious to us as one another. And feeling that we had spent enough of our lifetime apart, there was no time to lose. 128 days and 1,968 miles stood between our first letter and our first kiss, only a speck of time in the grand scheme of things – except when you are falling in love and running for home.” (-excerpt)

But when they both arrive, something goes wrong.

They know they are in the same room, yet they cannot find each other. It’s as if their physical bodies don’t recognize each other … it is only their souls that have fallen in love.

Jack and Everleigh must decide if they will force their love back into the physical realm, or learn how to navigate love in the ethers.

She stood in the doorway and listened to her heart pound, beating in the tomb of an empty chest.

The world stood around him like a clearance sale of last year’s second hand goods, insipid, all it’s charm gone.

Two vagabonds wandering in an unrecognizable world.
Miserable and alone.
Together.
